Thank you for your questions Debbie. They are common questions.
We have guidelines and recommendations for how much flaxseed per day here.

For a healthy adult, we recommend starting with 1 Tablespoon/day and in 2-3 days increasing to 2 Tablespoons and continuing until you reach the goal of 2-4 Tablespoons (4 Tbs ~= 1/4 cup) of flaxseed per day.

This does not need to be eaten all at once, but it can be. That is entirely up to your preference. Sometimes I eat 4 Tablespoons right away in the morning. Other times I spread it out during 3-4 times during the day -with meals, snacks, etc. Other ideas of how to eat flax.

A lot of times I eat up to 6 Tablespoons/day, but that is me. I know my body can handle the extra fiber and I know I need the additional Omega 3.
Listen to your body.

If you need to eat less one day because you have been eating a ton of fiber, then cut back for a day.
