Beat together in another bowl:
1 3/4 c milk
1/2 c melted butter or oil
Add wet ingredients to dry mixture all at once. Stir just till moistened. Batter should be lumpy!
To make variations of these waffles, you can
Add one or more of these optional ingredients:
1/2 c raisins or other dried fruit
1/2 c fresh or frozen strawberries or other berries
1/2 c thinly sliced banana pieces
1/2 c shredded cheese
1/2 c shredded coconut
1/2 c semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
Fry waffles on hot, greased waffle iron. Serves 4-5. Save time, make extra of this flaxseed waffle recipe + freeze for later!
